Now, you have to picture this…we are heading up for an ancient wall, symbol of China, known throughout the world, a world heritage site. To get up to the wall you had 2 choices – a walk of about 40 minutes up the mountain to get to the top or the sled. OK…we took the sled. It’s open air (remember, I said it was raining, try pouring), there’s a nice little rug to sit on (remember the rain?), it’s all plastic with no drainage (get the picture). We were totally drenched by the time we got up there – despite the ponchos (cheap, lousy and holey) and umbrellas (ineffective). Ah well…gotta love progress.
