ビレッジ美合館 (Birejji Mia Kan)

While the name above looks intimidating to the western eye, it's actually the name of the ryokan, owned by one of our NIS families. The Ebi family invited us to come to their ryokan (Japanese style hotel) on Shikoku Island. We piled into the car and headed off for the island, not sure of where we were headed or what we would find. We were absolutely astounded and delighted!
First the ryokan; nestled on a mountainside with each cabin individually crafted with something unique to delight the visitor. Ours had a fabulous outside bath in a garden like setting. The hotel has a large bath in the main building – complete with an outdoor pool, however, we had this wonderful outdoor pool – decisions, decisions (actually, I ended up using all 3 options available to us. I took a lot of baths.)
